We operate in three countries
"We didn't choose the countries; they chose us."
Nicaragua
It all began in Nicaragua in 2018: Our co-founders Khalil Radi and Jaffet Davila developed the idea locally that people in the Rivas region could exchange plastic bottles for hot meals. Today, this exchange is an integral part of our work. At the same time, we already operate two recycling plants in Nicaragua, regularly collect plastic together with households, hotels, and businesses, process it locally into new products, and create important jobs. With water filtration and other solutions, we also help to avoid single-use plastic from the outset.
India
Growing up in the slums of Mumbai, 20-year-old Shakti Yadav contacted us on Instagram with a clear desire to implement the concept in his community. We have been active in the slums of Mumbai since 2020. We enable the exchange of plastic bottles for food, manufacture new products from the collected plastic, and are building a growing collection network in schools. Around 50,000 young people now have access to our collection points.
Ghana
George Kwame Quansah approached us to implement the concept in the Elmina region. We have been active there since 2020, enabling the local population to exchange plastic bottles and plastic bags (Pure Water sachets, a major problem in Ghana) for meals, while simultaneously building a recycling infrastructure and conducting environmental education workshops in schools.
