Teamwork makes the Dream work - Meet the 5 Founders
Khalil Radi's idea of holding an event in Nicaragua where locals could pay for hot meals with plastic bottles met with a great deal of media interest, especially after Khalil returned to Switzerland, and one thing led to another: the idea could no longer be carried on alone, and a mastermind group quickly formed in Zurich, which primarily crystallized into the four powerful women Xenia Meier, Elena Hauptmann, Lena Götsch and Anna Herbst.

All four well-educated, ambitious young women shared the vision from the very beginning. Thanks to them, the Buy Food with Plastic event in Nicaragua, which was initially only intended to be held once, became a permanent fixture of the community in la Virgen de Morena, and the five founders Xenia Meier, Elena Hauptmann, Lena Götsch, Khalil Radi and Anna Gracia Herbst shaped the Buy Food with Plastic association as it exists today.
Later that same year, they jointly established the legal structure, secured a major donor, professionalized the events in Nicaragua, and further developed the team in Zurich. They organized numerous charity events in Zurich and were committed from the very beginning to raising awareness and inspiring people in Switzerland to consume more consciously. Many new ideas emerged that furthered the goal of making the world a better place, and there was a strong desire to implement the idea in other countries in need.
